GreenStitch Episode 2 - It's curtains for you!

In Episode 2 of the podcast, we looked at curtains as the basis for easy and creative refashioning. Plus, a giveaway for being among my first listeners! You can click on the title of this post to link to the podcast, or just click here.

Here are the before-and-after photos of the apron projects.

And below is the ruffly skirt I made out of the old shabby chic curtains in our master bedroom:

Visit the Shabby Nest to view Wendy's spectacular smocked curtains. And be sure and check out the "Non-Committal Curtains" at Sew Much Ado.

Here's where to find "Sew What! Skirts," by Francesca DenHartog, which I highly recommend.

Finally, leave a comment and get in the drawing for this little zippered pouch, made out of (what else?) curtain scraps. I think I forgot to specify in the recording, but I'll take entries through August 15.

Also, when I was reviewing this recording, I noticed that the sound seemed to cut in and out from time to time. I'm not sure if it's because of my headset or the recording software, but I'll check it out and try to fix it before next time. And I don't want you to miss a single word of the next podcast, because I'll be interviewing Ginger from Weinerdog Tricks - she's sure to be a terrific guest. Thanks for listening, and see you soon!

  1. Hey, Anne, what fun!! I was working on the PC tonight and popped your podcast on in the background and, yes, it was Kitchen Klatter, revisited!!

Loved the comments about Mom! Brought a smile to my face.

And, to be official, this comment hereby officially enters me into your drawing for podcast listeners!!

Enjoyed it...sound quality was excellent. A couple of clips at some audio edit points. Nicely done, though.

I await Frank Field with the weather.....

  2. Another great episode, Anne! Loved the book review, as I've had it sitting on my shelf for ages and totally forgot that I owned it until you mentioned it! Loved, too, the tip about tide & vinegar and baking soda. Hmmmm . . .that's a handy one. I find I'm still hip-swaddled to fabric softener. I'm trying your way next.

  4. Sonia, thanks for the message - don't know why the link blanked out, but I've just posted to the general listing on my hosting service, so you should be able to find things now.

  5. Hi Anne! That first apron is so cute - it actually almost looks pink in the modeled photo. And the striped one reminds me of matching aprons my grandma made for me and my doll when I was little. So fun! Wonder what your next project will be...?

  11. You gave a very good idea!! because I have a lot of old curtains at home and that's perfect to create my own aprons with the old curtains, this is is great I think I can make them in different colors and take advantage of them and earning some money.
