Here are a few shots from my week.
Maureen and I had a great time Sunday afternoon at Portland's famous rose garden. We lingered here for a long time, just breathing in the wonderful fragrance, people-watching, and enjoying being together. She's such a sweetheart. We really had a fantastic five days.

Anne - thanks so much for your podcast on Portland, OR! I had visited there about a year ago and found much of the same of what you describe. It's nice to hear someone else with the same observations. But why didn't you take the mass transit system while you were there? The light rail system is awesome!

ReplyDeleteClosing the gap: I think it refers to educational goals for schools, especially test scores and graduation rates. We often hear about performance gaps between the various racial/socioeconomic and special ed student populations. Margaret (in Portland)
ReplyDeleteps It also reminds me of the 'Mind the Gap' warnings in the underground in London, which I just visited for the first time - while you were in Portland.
