Zipped-up earphone cords! Here are the original instructions. It's easy to adapt to use a fabric casing instead, if you prefer.
Here are the little preemie quilts. Can you see the cherry print? It looked great as backing on both quilts, too. You can probably easily figure out how to make the center square, but if you'd like instructions, try this link. I use the option on Page 5 of the instructions with the flying geese forming a star.
OK, as for other links in this episode....

Thank you for this genious idea with zipped-up earphone cords! I always had this problem, now I'm going to buy a zipper!
ReplyDeleteI haven't listened to this one yet but did hear in the last one about your plans to make the baby quilts - how cute are they?!!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if Dan is home with you yet, but hope you didn't get too lonely. I expect it seemed like a long time!

I also have the Readers Digest Complete Guide to Sewing book, which I referred to a lot when I used to sew my clothes, in the 70's. Great reference guide, and I'm glad I kept it. Also have the Readers Digest Complete Needlework guide.
ReplyDeleteThose quilts are absolutely gorgeous Anne..great job!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to mention.."Coraline" is also a character in a children's animated movie of the same name...my daughter went out as her for Halloween last year!

Love your podcast, Ann! And very cute preemie quilts. Boy, that cherry print with the blue background looks familiar...I suspect it's lurking in my own stash somewhere.
ReplyDeleteQuestion about zippers as embellishments--I've seen a pattern in a magazine recently with a plastic zipper along the upper edge of a pocket on the outside of the totebag. It was visually cute, but all I could think when I looked at it was "ouch!" Wouldn't that be a little scratchy on your hand as you reached into the pocket? I would be willing to consider doing it (again with the "cute!") but need to be reassured on that point, LOL.

I was born and raised in Elmira and I was good to hear my hometown mentioned - anywhere! I enjoy your podcast and I'll be listening again.
